cb certification system is a multilateral certification system, established by international electro technical commission (iec) for conformity assessment schemes for electrotechnical equipment and components. its members use the principle of mutual recognition (mutual acceptance) of test results to obtain certification or approval at national levels around the world without additional testing.

cb certification is based on international product safety standards. aenor is entitled as national certification body (ncb) no. cb039 for issuing cb certificate for those products, which passed the tests by cb testing laboratories (cbtls)

what is a cb certificate?

it is a certificate issued by the national certification body (ncb). aenor is an entitled ncb under the cb certification system, which can issue a cb certificate to the applied product based on cb test report issued by cb testing laboratory.

what is cbtl?

cbtl, the abbreviation of cb laboratory, is a laboratory accepted by cb scheme. cbtl perform tests on one or more product categories and issues cb test reports under the responsibility of a specific ncb in accordance with iec international standards.

can cnas accredited laboratory be taken as cb accredited laboratory, right?

no，it can’t be taken as. the difference is different recognition system adopted.

what is a cb report?

the cb report is a report in standardized form that can only be issued by cb laboratory. cb report provides an itemized list of the requirements of the relevant iec standard. in the cb report, the results of all required tests, measurements, verification, check and comments should be clear and unambiguous described. the report also contains photos, circuit diagrams, pictures, and description of product. according to the regulations of the cb scheme, cb certificate is only valid on the condition relevant cb test report is provided together.
